An author with three books published won't necessarily earn more money in a year than an author with only one book. That said, there isn't a clear correlation between books sold and annual income. However, all of the authors selling more than five books had agents. Book sales generally increased with years in the industry. The person selling the most books had been working for more than ten years. Or, maybe marketing doesn't impact sales that much. In any case, author perceptions of marketing assistance isn't correlated to sales.
